Her interest in cancer care medicine led her to complete 2 years of accredited registrar training in Radiation Oncology in Sydney and she then went on to complete 6 months of training as a Palliative care registrar at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne in 2014, where she obtained her Clinical diploma in Palliative Medicine through the Royal Australian College of Physicians.
Penny completed General Practice training in Melbourne and obtained her fellowship through the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2016. Penny is currently completing her FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health for doctors. She has been working with the North East Public Health Unit for the last 10 months as a clinical lead assisting with outbreak management and the covid-19 public health response.
Penny has a passion for integrating modern evidence-based medicine and lifestyle approaches to get to the root cause of the problem. She enjoys being an advocate for her patients and hopes to build long-lasting therapeutic relationships to guide them through their health journey. Through her own struggles with breastfeeding after the birth of her child, she has also developed an interest in breastfeeding medicine and hopes to complete her NDC practitioner accreditation to better support her patients.
Outside of work, Penny enjoys spending time outdoors, going on nature walks, keeping active, and going on small travel adventures with her young daughter and husband.
